MORE ABOUT US

Educating. Guiding. Inspiring.

We are excited that the faculty and students of SFA's College of Fine Arts and Department of Kinesiology and Health Science's dance program have been invited to participate in such a prestigious festival as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.  The goal of our interdisciplinary work is to create a collaborative piece of art that fuses theatre and dance and tells a story that would otherwise use intricate machinery.  By fusing theatre, dance, partnering skills and an original script, we will create and present three-dimensional art in its raw unadulterated form. The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the world’s premier arts festival.  This is an amazing opportunity for SFA faculty and students to present our work for an international audience.  Every year, Scotland’s capital city is transformed into a magical, unpredictable and thrilling world!  The city bursts at the seams, becoming the center of the performing arts universe, and we want to represent Stephen F. Austin State University on that stage.
TALES OF NEVERLAND provides a unique and highly personalized method of learning, creating an environment to nurture, educate and encourage creative individuals to achieve the highest level of success.

CREATING THE WORK

19 students are participating in our production of TALES OF NEVERLAND

We had our first read-through of the script in January 2019, and in February we are getting on our feet!  We will have several rehearsals and a preview performance in the spring semester.  Intensive rehearsals will begin in July, culminating in a preview performance right before we leave for Scotland. Students are also providing all of the technical and design support as well as performing in the production.
